South Lanarkshire Council – Car Leasing Scheme

Just another way that those wastrels at South Lanarkshire Council have been squandering your hard-earned bucks. The political leader of South Lanarkshire Council is Eddie McAvoy, brother of Tommy McAvoy – Labour MP for Rutherglen & Hamilton West.

Quite right clapmadug. You don’t want your windies put in or your tyres slashed – or worse. I’ve been the victim of official wrath before. They get their henchmen to do things to you, then blame vandals or natural causes. So barking from your wee kennel’s a rerr idea. If slappy came out and said who HE was he’d probably get the sack. But I think he’ s a New Labour politician masel. He certainly sounds like one. You can spot these villains a mile off.

These facts are 100% accurate. Otherwise the council would have been quick to refute them robustly. But it has not. Because it cannot.

Whereas even you must understand slapmalug that these days any individual or small group foolish enough to ‘put up in a genuine open and honest fashion’ against a gang of well-organised politically-motivated rascals is bound to suffer grave misfortune. Hence wise wee doggies aye bark from the safety of their kennels. You know it makes sense.

Clapper got the facts wrong. Simple. So what if I am a Council worker? If you want to argue about Council services come out in the open and put up in a genuine open and honest fashion. But that would then expose you to proper democratic debate instead of hiding behind anononymity.

Slapmalug… You are described in this week’s East Kilbride News as ‘one SLC worker’. So at least now we know where you’re coming from and what your agenda is.

Given the current number of council-owned two-tone-blue car-derived vans and larger commercials, both on our roads and parked overnight in the driveways of private houses, it really beggars belief that SLC Car Leasing Scheme vehicles are used by the lessees for anything other than personal purposes. With fuel now costing around £4.75 per gallon only a daftie would run his/her car on business for just 7p per mile.

And council workers are far from being daft.

You made the news in the lanarkshire papers, such as the East Kilbride news and the Hamilton Advertiser. I could not beleive after watch your videos, how much we ‘the tax payer’ are being ripped off by these theiving degenrates.

No I am not a member of the Council’s lease car scheme. I would not wish to pay the huge amount of extra tax or receive only 7p a mile for business mileage. In a democratic society those who wish to slag of public servants should have the courage to identify themselves by name and not hide behind daft names like clapmadug. Who are you? What’s your agenda?

The facts presented in this video are gold-plated. Otherwise your response would be different. The Car Leasing Scheme was only ‘cheaper in the long run’ for those that got the cars: certainly not for the council, or the hard-pressed council tax payers who had to fund them. So although thankfully the scheme is now dead, its very existence affords a clear view of the public sector mindset.

In every democratic society people have a right to ‘react’ to the conduct of those that govern them. For you to state that this sort of reaction is ‘rubbish’ implies searing contempt for democracy. It further suggests that you work for SLC and drive one of the costly leased cars featured in our video, a suggestion that your mindset, no less your profile, reflects vividly. Also telling is your contrast with ’spivs’ in the private sector, even though no one is ‘forced’ to pay for THEM.

you really need to get a grip n get your facts right before you go makin drivle like this up! its really rather sad that you have very little to do with your time, perhaps in the next video you make you could get all the facts right as to why council employees have the car leasing scheme! i think you will find its cheaper in the long run!

It gets better and better – meanwhile I still await a new wheelie bin, thats 3 weeks now and they wont lift black bags unless you phone them on the morning of collection but you need to be clairevoyant in order to phne before the Bin Lorry has left the depot!! LOL. I am glad to have a sense of humour!! A day in the life at South Lanarkshire Council.

Dont worry everyone the Public Sector debt in the UK will soon exceed 100% of GDP and this Self Perpetuating Prophecy will no longer be sustainable thankfully. Its culture of Beurocracy and internal segregation (departmental politics) does not deliver its customer a level of service commensurate with the charges levied in C/Tax bills. We need a public inquiry held by members of the public without vested interests and personal agenda to review and hold the Scot Exec accountable. Stop this farce.

Sorry Clapmadug but this is just reactionary rubbish. You misrepresent a scheme to allow workers who are required to have a car for business and who are then taxed heavily for the benefit and receive a much reduced mileage rate for business journeys. It has been closed to new entrants for 4 years and is now being withdrawn. What about attacking the perks of the spivs who get flash cars and holidays selling us dodgy insurance and mortgages instead of attacking hard working public servants.

Brilliant job. These council gangsters are just out to screw the public for as much as they can get. Personally I would sack the lot of them for fraud. Because thats all this is. FRAUD with a capital F. Good on ye ma man.

Another good video clapmadug. They certainly know how to be good to themselves at SLC. I bet they stopped the scheme in the aftermath of all the hoo-ha about MPs expenses and stuff.
